Through the application of modern technology, teamwork and the participation of our highly trained and motivated staff in the use, monitoring and constant improvement of the QMS, the MAJ will provide superior services which consistently meet client expectations
ISO Certification: The Authority succeeded in obtaining certification of its critical activities under the International Standards Organization’s ISO 9001:2000 quality standards. In 2004. As the formalized maritime administration, the MAJ’s mandate included ensuring that the necessary quality systems were in place for Jamaica to report to the IMO in 2004 and at subsequent five (5) yearly period to maintain the country’s ‘white list’ status.
The ISO certification has enabled Jamaica to maintain its status on the IMO white list of countries whose maritime training standards are certified as being in keeping with the accepted international standard
Additionally, the confirmation of ISO 9001:2000 certification of the Authority’s Quality Management System in 2004, also demonstrates to the international shipping industry that the high service levels of the JSR will be consistently maintained.
