Any ship flying the Jamaican flag must have valid statutory certificates on board that are issued by the Jamaican government or by the classification society on behalf of the Jamaican government. The MAJ has a cadre of Surveyors whom are qualified to conduct annual, intermediate and renewal surveys on the behalf of the Administration.
