The Maritime Environment Protection Committee on its 74th session in May 2019 adopted Resolutions MEPC.314 (74), MEPC.316 (74) and MEPC.317 (74), by which amendments to MARPOL Annexes I, II, V and VI and the Technical Code on Control of Emission of Nitrogen Oxides from Marine Diesel Engines (NOX Technical Code 2008) are entering into force, allowing the use of electronic record books for the purposes of recording operations.
Safety and Security of vessels under Jamaica Flag calling or approaching ports/countries where armed/civil conflicts take place
Every vessel shall at all times, maintain a proper lookout by sight and hearing as well as all available means appropriate in the prevailing circumstances and condition so as to make a full appraisal of the situation and of the risk of collision.
With reference to the above subject The Maritime Authority of Jamaica informs that, the date of entry into force of the amended Regulation E-1 and appendix 1 of the Annex to the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships Ballast Water and Sediments of 2004 (BWM Convention) is the 1st of June 2022.
