Use of Electronic Record Books (ERB) under MARPOL Convention

The Maritime Environment Protection Committee on its 74th session in May 2019 adopted Resolutions MEPC.314 (74), MEPC.316 (74) and MEPC.317 (74), by which amendments to MARPOL Annexes I, II, V and VI and the Technical Code on Control of Emission of Nitrogen Oxides from Marine Diesel Engines (NOX Technical Code 2008) are entering into force, allowing the use of electronic record books for the purposes of recording operations.

Resolution MEPC 325(75) - Amendments to the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships' Ballast Water and Sediments

With reference to the above subject The Maritime Authority of Jamaica informs that, the date of entry into force of the amended Regulation E-1 and appendix 1 of the Annex to the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships Ballast Water and Sediments of 2004 (BWM Convention) is the 1st of June 2022.

Preventing Drug and alcohol abuse on board Jamaica flagged vessels

The Maritime Authority of Jamaica wish to inform that in accordance with paragraph 2 of Regulation V/III/1 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978 (STCW78) as amended1, for the purpose of preventing drug and alcohol abuse on board Jamaica flagged vessels.
